Comic books and graphic novels are developing more and more of a presence in school and public libraries across Canada. To help librarians and educators with the challenges and opportunities this popular category presents, on May 4th the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) is teaming up with The Beguiling Library Services to host Librarian and Educator Day. This event is “a full day of programming dedicated to explaining, expanding, and building graphic novel knowledge.”

The day will include presentations, workshops and panels featuring librarians and educations from across the country. The day will also feature some of the biggest names in graphic novel publishing, including keynote speakers Jennifer and Matthew Holm, co-creators of the critically acclaimed Babymouse series.

Standard admittance is free or guests can purchase the Paton Package for $100.00 which includes admission to a special author lunch and a graphic novel package. Pre-registration is required for all guests. Attendance is limited to librarians, educators and students of those disciplines.

For more details about TCAF’s Librarian and Educator Day and how you can register, visit Open Book’s Events page or the TCAF website.
