one cool word magazine is currently looking for submissions for a special edition "Vancouver vs. Toronto" issue of the magazine. The Vancouver-based magazine is "dedicated to showcasing and merging unconventional art, writing, and music...." The submission deadline is February 1st.

From ocw:

THE "VANCOUVER VS. TORONTO" ISSUE is coming!

A special edition of ocw that will FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER feature ½ content by Metro Vancouverites and ½ content by Metro Torontonians!

We are looking for eccentric, polished, absolutely-mind-blowingly-amazing work from established and up and coming artists, writers, and musicians that live in either Metro Vancouver or Metro Toronto. You may want to include work that is relevant to either of the two cities, but all themes and subjects will be considered. We are looking for the very, very, very best of all underrepresented art, literary, and musical works in two of Canada's biggest cities!

SEND SUBMISSIONS TO: submissions@onecoolword.com

NEW DEADLINE: February 1st, 2008

PLEASE TELL YOUR TORONTONIAN PEERS!

one cool word is an art & literary magazine that comes with a full-length compilation CD of music and spoken word, with all content by Metro Vancouverites. For our Winter 2008 issue we will be including 1/2 content by Metro Torontonians! Previous contributors include such names as Kevin Chong, Nathan Sellyn, Eve Corbel, Cathleen With, Brendan McLeod, RC Weslowski, and Severn Cullis-Suzuki. We were recently voted "Best Excuse to Support a Local Magazine" in the Georgia Straight's Best of Vancouver issue. We also won Best Booth at the Word Under the Street in 2006 and 2008.
