Review of The North End Poems - "Knox delivers a knock out"

If you're looking for an engrossing poetry collection to round out your reading for National Poetry Month, you should consider picking up a copy of Michael Knox’s latest book, The North End Poems (ECW Press). In her syndicated column "This Week's Most Talked About Books," reviewer Karla Mass describes The North End Poems as "a raunchy collection of narrative poetry that exudes masculinity and harsh words without mercy. Characters bear their souls with sharp voices and relentless, no-holds-barred dialogue." She writes, "The characters and conflict are so familiar in Knox's lyrics, readers may catch a glimpse of themselves in similar unhealthy attachments. His poetry is therapeutic and a reminder that difficult love is sometimes unavoidable. Knox delivers a knock out."
