Exhibition Opening For Prints From Lana Šlezic's Forsaken at the Image Works Gallery

Canadian photojournalist Lana Šlezić went to Afghanistan in 2004 with “a preconceived notion and a knapsack full of naïveté.” Expecting that life for girls and women improved after the Taliban was overthrown, Šlezić discovered that this was not the case. In her new book, Forsaken, she tells the story of several Afghan women with photographs and text. An exhibit of Šlezić’s photographs opens at Toronto’s Image Works Gallery (80 Spadina Ave, #207) tonight at 6 p.m.
