Peter Christie discusses his latest book, The Curse of Akkad: The Climate Upheavals that Rocked Human History (Annick Press, 2008). Listen to the podcast here. A science writer and editor, Peter Christie's work has appeared in many newspapers and magazines, including The Globe and Mail, the South China Morning Post, the Ottawa Citizen, On Nature magazine and Canadian Geographic. He is a member of the Canadian Science Writers' Association and a Science in Society Journalism Award winner. The Curse of Akkad is his third book for children. His first two children's books, Well-schooled Fish and Feathered Bandits (Annick Press, 2006) and Naturally Wild Musicians (Annick Press, 2007), explore the science of animal behaviour.
